Here are some CGI (3D animation) and AI projects that I have created through scriptwriting, prompt writing, storyboard creation and production supervision.

DIABLO WORLDBUILDING

3D ANIMATION/CGI

CHALLENGE

Diablo, little sister of Casillero del Diablo, has rolled out about ten trendy wine varieties since its launch in 2018. The client wanted to create a series of product videos that could give each variety its own unique world while still being able to live side by side in the Diablo universe.

INSIGHT

We decided that working with CGI would allow us to create the most consistent look and feel for the entire range, and give us infinite create possibilities.

IDEA

I played a key role in developing these worldbuilding films, not just writing the scripts but deciding how each miniature wine world would look. Each variety was given an element, texture and colour that allowed us to build a visual world that could be seamlessly replicated in OOH and social.

DON MELCHOR

Generative AI

CHALLENGE

Luxury brand, Don Melchor was looking to innovate its image. In particular when it came to sharing big announcements: like their prestigious Wine Spectator ‘Wine of the Year’ honour, and new wine launches.

INSIGHT

We wanted to create a visual language for Don Melchor that felt fresh but true to the brand and its history. With Artificial Intelligence being at the top of everyone’s mind, we set out to use the new technology in a way that still said luxury.

IDEA

Combining GenAI with good old-fashioned retouching, we created a new look and feel that was modern but still held a sense of prestige. To announce Don Melchor’s big Wine Spectator win, we created a classic hot air balloon that flew over key cities for the brand, like London, Santiago and Paris. Whereas to launch the new DM range, we created different characters to represent each wine.

CARLOS 1: A GEM POLISHED BY LEGACY

CHALLENGE

Carlos I could be considered an old-school brand. As a historic brandy de Jerez, the name is usually more associated with images of dusty cellars and heavy glass bottles. For the launch of the new Legacy Collection, Carlos I wanted to do something different, they wanted to show their product in a way that people are not used to seeing.

INSIGHT

We took a look at standard brandy communications, noticing how they usually work with a lot of warm golden colours and images of wooden casks sitting in cellars. To get away from that aesthetic, we decided to search for something darker, leaning into the black and turquoise colours on the bottle.

IDEA

This new Legacy Collection was presented as a rare gem, like something priceless that has been carved out of the history of the Carlos I name. I developed the concept of Sculpted by Legacy, or Tallada por el Legado in Spanish. This was then transformed into a series of CGI videos that displayed all of the beauty of this bottle alongside the elements that make this product a premium, special brandy.

TORO DE PIEDRA: WRITTEN IN STONE

CHALLENGE

Toro de Piedra is a local hero in Chile. A wine with a great price and extraordinary quality. The range experienced a surge in popularity during the pandemic, with people looking for a premium product to enjoy easily at home. Even though many people were now buying this wine, they didn’t really have a sense of the brand or what it stood for. The client was looking for a campaign to solidify the brand’s messaging, and give this wine a recognisable point of view.

INSIGHT

We learned that fans of this wine were buying Toro de Piedra, mostly, as they viewed it as a consistent wine. You can guarantee that each bottle is going to be good. But being the safe bet doesn’t always sound too exciting, so we needed to drum up a new interesting way to say this.

IDEA

We developed the idea of “Written in Stone”. This wine is so consistently good that Toro de Piedra could write its quality in stone. The line also carries a double meaning in Spanish, as piedra means stone, tying directly back to the wine’s identity. For the product imagery and video we decided to move forward with CGI, giving us the ability to mould stones to fit around these bottles, and taking the viewer on a journey through the meaning of stone for humanity, the permanence of writing something in stone.

Ron Cihuatán

Generative AI

CHALLENGE

Ron Cihuatán is a rum with an epic, mythologically-inspired Salvadoran origin. To expand its footprint in Europe, the brand was looking to refresh its image and communication to create something different, eye-catching and vibrant enough to match the rum’s legendary story.

INSIGHT

Europeans tend to have typical things in mind when they think of Central America. Colour. Beaches. Exotic animals. We didn’t want to completely break with this common imagery, but rather give it a new spin. We wanted to show the place that people think they know in a different way.

IDEA

The line Awaken Your Legend was created to flip the story towards the audience. Many people know about legends from Latin America but we wanted to pose a question to the potential audience. How will they bring their own legend to life? For visuals we created a fantastical world where layers of paper-craft flora and fauna burst to life.
